Priesthood Worship – November 2020

Priesthood Worship
Bradenton-Sarasota Congregation
November 2020

My thoughts for us this morning seem to be focusing on the Sacrament of Communion. Last month I realized that Patty and I had not had communion since February at Bradenton. I became a little concerned about that. Of course Patty and I being priesthood we could and maybe should have been having communion together. I’m sure that would have been good and pleasing in God’s eyes. But I was feeling like I needed something more than that. I made a phone call and found that there were four others that would like to share communion with us. We got together on October 4 at 3:00 and had communion together. I think we were all fed that day and more and we plan to meet again this afternoon to share together in this Holy Sacrament: In remembrance of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

This Sacrament is a time of REFLECTION. I’m sure during the experience in the upper room Jesus was doing some reflecting on His ministry and what was going to happen when He said to his priesthood;

Take this bread and eat in remembrance of my body which is broken for you.
Drink of this cup in remembrance of my blood of the which is shed for as many as shall believe on my name.

Do This In Remembrance Of Me

Remember, Me and the power I give you.
Remember, what I have taught you.
Remember, what I have shown you.
Remember, my love, mercy and grace.
Remember my spirit is with you always.
Remember, my life that I give for you to be with me in my Father’s Kingdom.

I think this is a time for reflection for us as members of His Holy Priesthood to remember Jesus, His call to us, His love and all the wonderful experiences we have with Him. I am thankful for the thought that reminded me that I was neglecting this beautiful sacrament that does feed and renew my spirit.

Brothers and Sister in these difficult times don’t let your spiritual cup get low our Lord desires to continually fill it to over flowing,

Hear His soft voice as you read:

I have called you by your name you are mine
I have gifted you and ask you now to shine
I will not abandon you; all my promises are true
You are gifted, called, and chosen you are mine.

I have given you a name, it is mine
I have given you my spirit as a sign
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole
Go and tell my precious people they are mine.

I pray for us; as we go forth in this extraordinary time when the need is so great for the presence of Christ in the lives of God’s children everywhere. May God bless and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you. Amen
